Parthopratim Dutta Majumder

Prof. Parthopratim Dutta Majumder completed his graduation and post-graduation from Silchar Medical College, Assam University, and pursued his fellowship in Medical Retina and Uvea at Sankara Nethralaya, where he currently serves as Professor and Senior Consultant in the Department of Uvea and Medical Retina. Over the years, he has received several prestigious awards, including the Dr. TLK Row Endowment Award (2010–11), the Dr. Nataraj Pillai Award, The Best of IJO Award, and the Dr. K. R. Dutta Award. He has delivered more than 290 invited lectures at national and international meetings and has authored over 200 research publications in peer-reviewed journals. He has also contributed more than 70 chapters to ophthalmology textbooks and authored four books. Recognized for his research impact, he has been ranked among the world’s top 2% of scientists in 2024 and 2025, according to Stanford University’s Scientist’s List. He currently serves as Secretary of the Uveitis Society of India (USI), having previously served as Treasurer, and is a member of the International Uveitis Study Group (IUSG) and the Intraocular Inflammation Society (IOIS). Actively involved in teaching and academic initiatives, he is the Founder and Chief Editor of the ophthalmology portal www.eophtha.com, and through “Uveitis Unplugged,” he aims to simplify the complex science of uveitis for practicing clinicians.
